Nova Scotia Communities

On 16 June 1943 the 23rd Army Tank Regiment  (Halifax Rifles) sailed overseas. On 2
July the Halifax Herald carried photographs of 209 of them taken prior to their
departure with the names of the 85 Nova Scotia communities and the 27 out of province
communities  from which they came. This sample is but a fraction of the 1000 plus who  
served overseas during World War ll.
